We, the undersigned residents of California and concerned citizens, demand accountability from Governor Gavin Newsom, the State of California, and LA County for what we believe is gross negligence and failure to lead during the catastrophic wildfires that have devastated our communities.
In the wake of this disaster, thousands of homes and businesses have been reduced to ash, families have been displaced, and entire neighborhoods destroyed. Yet, instead of providing strong leadership during this crisis, Governor Newsom and state officials have demonstrated an alarming lack of preparedness and response.
Their inability to manage critical resources, such as emergency services and fire mitigation efforts, has left Californians vulnerable and without the support they desperately need. We believe billions of taxpayer dollars intended for disaster relief and prevention remain unaccounted for, while communities are left to pick up the pieces on their own.
We demand:
1) A full, transparent investigation into the failures of Governor Newsom, the State of California, and LA County during this wildfire crisis.
2) Accountability for the mismanagement of funds allocated for fire prevention, disaster response, and recovery efforts.
3) Immediate steps to address the needs of affected communities, including housing, rebuilding resources, and mental health support.
4) A comprehensive overhaul of California’s disaster preparedness and response strategies to ensure such failures never happen again.
Californians deserve leadership that prioritizes their safety, their homes, and their futures. This wildfire catastrophe has shown that our state government and local officials are failing to meet this basic obligation.
We call on all residents and concerned citizens to stand with us in demanding justice, transparency, and accountability. Together, we can ensure those responsible are held accountable and that California is better prepared to face future challenges.
It’s time for real leadership and change.
